Celebrate a British institution with a classic afternoon tea
A quintessential custom made popular in 1840 by the Duchess of Bedford, whose daily tea and cake ritual soon became a fashionable social event.
We pay homage to this elegant staple between-lunch-and-dinner with a menu selection that includes classic cream teas and full celebratory options, every weekend 12pm-5pm. Enjoy this British tradition alongside live music, with our resident pianist on Saturdays and live jazz on the mezzanine on Sundays.
Timeless with a Twist
Our scones, cakes and finger sandwiches are all made in-house by our talented pastry team, and served alongside an extensive tea selection, from Classic English Breakfast and Earl Grey to Jasmine Bud and Green tea.
And for those who’d like to tailor their afternoon tea experience, we also offer a selection of sweet and savoury treats and desserts, from our classic Battenberg to a delicate Millefeuille, which can simply be enjoyed on their own, perhaps with a warming pot of tea or a glass of champagne.
Children's Afternoon Tea
Here at The Wolseley City, we believe it’s never too early to be introduced to the delights of afternoon tea. So, that quintessentially British ritual has been given a joyful twist for young taste buds, thanks to the culinary wizardry of our pastry chefs.
Our new Children’s Afternoon Tea carries all of the elegance of the adult original – including a three-tiered cake stand – with plenty of playful elements designed to delight. Think 100s and 1000s, chocolate drops and mini marshmallows ready to adorn hot chocolates; savoury bites in the form of mini hotdogs, chicken goujons and colourful cucumber and tomato skewers, plus a top tier of sweet treats, from jam roly-poly to chocolate dipped strawberries.
